INSTRUCTIONS

Pdphoto.net is designed to be an easy to use website for high quality digital photos. This section of our site will give you the basic instructions. You will find that just by reading and following the on screen instructions that it is simple to use. From the home page, click the “Click to start” button and you are ready to go. The first thing that will happen is a box will pop up asking you if you want to install a small up loader program, please answer yes to this. It will only take a second and this program gives you the ability to drag your files into the up loader.

UPLOADING

File Format Options

Picture This! accepts images in JPEG (.jpg) or TIFF (.tif) format. If your photos are in another format, you’ll need to convert them using a graphics utility program.

Multiple Upload

Available for Most Browsers To upload images to the service, click on the “Browse for Files” button at the bottom of the upload window. Next, select the folder that contains your photos on your computer. Hold the “Control” button on your keyboard while you click on the pictures. Click “Open” to send the pictures to the upload window. Once you have selected all the images you would like to print, choose the ‘Upload’ button to begin transferring the files. You can also drag the selected files into the up loader.

Single Picture Uploads

Available for Browsers that Cannot Support Multiple Uploads

You can upload pictures one-by-one by selecting “Upload Pictures.” Use the “Browse for Files” button to select a photo from your files to be uploaded to the website.

Please note, all images must be smaller than a file size of 20MB, and you can upload an unlimited amount in each visit. If you would like to, you can always choose to “Add More Pictures” once your initial upload is complete.

Upload Times

Approximate upload times for a 400K picture, based on the speed of your Internet connection: 28.8K modem 5-6 minutes 56K modem 2.5-3 minutes Cable/ISDN/DSL Less than a minute T1 Approximately 15 seconds

EDITING YOUR PHOTOS

You can make many different kinds of edits to your images. Simply click on the “edit” link of the corresponding image you wish to edit, and you will be routed to an edit page where the image will be displayed next to a menu of various edit options. You can make alterations to your digital images such as:

Removing red eye

1. Click on the “remove red eye” function.

2. Point the arrow to the specific area you wish to edit.

3. Left click on the area to remove red eye.

4. Select “save” to save your edit and move on; select “restore” to undo the edit you’ve just made; select “copy” to create a copy of your original with the edits you’ve made; select “cancel” to cancel out of the editing features.

Cropping & Orientation

1. Click on the corresponding button of the print size you wish to configure for the given image.

2. Choose desired orientation (either landscape or portrait.

3. Select “save” to save your edit and move on; select “restore” to undo the edit you’ve just made; select “copy” to create a copy of your original with the edits you’ve made; select “cancel” to cancel out of the editing features.

Add Effects

1. Click on the desired effects you wish to add (the image will automatically display itself with the chosen effect.

2. Select “save” to save your edit and move on; select “restore” to undo the edit you’ve just made; select “copy” to create a copy of your original with the edits you’ve made; select “cancel” to cancel out of the editing features. Once you have configured your order to your satisfaction, you can either choose to upload more images or move on to the checkout process by clicking on the corresponding options available on the page.

ORDERING PRINTS

Image Resolution
Your print quality will rely heavily on the image resolution of your files. Bigger is better when it comes to picture resolution. A larger file will, likely, take longer to upload; however, the quality of your print will speak for itself. The "not recommended" symbol next to a print size means your picture's resolution is unlikely to produce a high-quality print at the size you have chosen. You can still order the item; however, resolution that is too low may result in a “pixilated” print. Pixilated prints tend to have jagged, boxy lines rather than smooth lines. This can happen even if the image looks clear on your computer.

Order Quantities

1. You can order the same amount of specific print sizes for all of your image selections by using the menu at the top of the page. It is broken up into available print sizes, and when choosing a specific size, all of your selections will be assigned the quantity you request for that particular size.

2. You can choose various print size quantities for each individual image selection. Each selection has available print sizes listed separately in their corresponding spots. Choose your desired print size quantities from the corresponding image selection dropdown menus for a more individualized print size quantity configuration. 

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Address Information

You will need to provide your shipping and/or billing addresses. Please make sure the information is complete and accurate.

Email Addresses

Please provide your email address, as an email will be sent to you with a printable HTML receipt. Also, if any issues or concerns may arise in regards to your order, we may be able to contact you in a more timely fashion.

Email Notifications for Orders

Once your order has been placed through the site, you will receive a notification confirming that your order was received. You will also receive and email when the order is ready to be picked up or when the order is being shipped (depending on what options you chose.)

Your Receipt

Upon checkout, you will be able to print the last page as a receipt. You will also be sent, via email, a printable HTML receipt.

Gift Receipts

If you are ordering images for a friend or family member to pick up at a store, you can enter their email address in the “Alternative Email Address” field. An email will be sent to that address when the order is ready to be picked up, but will not contain any pricing information.

CHECKOUT

Charging your Credit Card

Your credit card will be charged after your order has been printed. A “credit hold” will be placed on your card for the dollar amount of your order between the time the order is placed and the time the credit card is formally charged. We use Verisign as a secure way of processing your credit card information.

Obtaining a Receipt

You have two options in terms of obtaining a receipt. An HTML receipt will be sent to the email address you have provided. You can print out that receipt for your own records once you receive it. Also, the last page of the checkout process is printable.

Order Confirmation

Once you place your order and have gone through the checkout, we will send you a confirmation including the price of your order. This is done to the email address you provided.

Order Shipment

Immediately after your order has been completed, you will receive a shipping notification by email.
